TELENOIKA Cultural Association was founded on february 2000. It is a non-profit organization and intends to provide a platform for new artistic, social and cultural experiments through new audio+visual technologies.
Telenoia’s definition by Roy Ascott describes the critical and connected soul of Telenoika : as well as the TV is afecting the society we are living in , Telenoik's reject it to open and share our minds in a global networked connectivity.
Telenoika was initially founded by Eloi Maduell, Marc Gurmaches, Ausias Vives and Esteve Baquès. From the begining it has counted with the collaboration of many artists, creatives, technologists and persons who believed on the independent cultural project of Telenoika and who shared a keen interest in researching and developing new means of human comunication and artistic expression through audiovisual experimentation.
The main activity of Telenoika was the organization of the VideA festival from 2000 to 2002, an audio+visual arts festival, meeting point and platform for artists, creatives and VJ software developers from all arround the world and specially from Europe.
Since VideA festival, Telenoika established contact with many artistic collectives arround the area of Barcelona and all arround Europe and participated and promoted the contact and sharing between them as a way of expansion and growing.
