vj pause :: is the alter-ego for Eloi Maduell on his VJ sessions from arround 2002. vj pause defines a visual style based on own recorded or created footage, looking for the construction of a rythmic lenguage and a conceptual narrative in between the image bombing. Concise images, personal, clear and powerfull visuals. Frenetic style of rytmic repetitive secuences, searching to capture the attention of viewers.

Working in all kind of events, festivals, partys, clubs from arround Barcelona aswell as the rest of Europe. vj pause works alone and also in colaboration with other vjs and teams : Lectrovision, offTV, output_Video , Rotok and neXus. Sharing amazing sessions, laboratorys, experiments, clubbing ;-)

VJology 2005 :: it's a VJ festival that goes on since the 2004 at the dutch club P60. It's about a VJ contest where 6 of the best vjs arround europe "compete" for a prize. 6 hours of session with 1 hour for each VJ to play. The 2005 selection was composed of :

pa||se vj won the contest with a powerful and hardly worked set, mixing his own clips with some political orientations and system critics, all perfectly sequenced to the beats of the DJs James Ruskin and Ben Sims. The prize was a Pioneer DVJ-1 and a gig in the Awakenings festival, october 2005 in Amsterdam.

Onirik :: with this name was created on the well known Barcelona night club Otto Zutz, a multisensorial party designed by Bizarre Lab :: "a space where senses are immersed in an atmosphere constructed with conceptual and vanguardist art". Dj's + Vj's, artwork, expo, performances, and Barcelona premiere of Madrid independent press La Dinamo.

ContactEurope VJ Festival :: it's a VJ festival which merged the emerging european VJ community. Basically organized through the internet the first edition was celebrated in Milano, Italy on may 2003 in LeonCavallo, a social and culture center. For 3 days there was a huge concentration of VJ culture from all arround Europe. VJ pause was playing with vj dima also from Barcelona. The day after, pause played with neXus as a nice audiovisual orchestra.

Second edition of ContactEurope was celebrated 6 months later in a cultural center ina little village close to Vienna, Austria. This time there was much more participants arround 100 VJ's and DJ's from all arround europe. Again vj pause was playing a VJ set alone and as part of neXus in an audiovisual live set that was really well received by the audience and that finally it has been edited as a DVD.

Groove Parade it's a enormous comercial rave party organized every year by the Florida135 club. Near Fraga inside the Monegros desert, 20 hours non-stop, 6 scenarios with the very best know electronic music stars to delight the 24.000 assistants.

On the 2003 edition with VJ's Off-Line and Fausto we did the visual ambientation of the 'Paradise Tent' with an amazing international line-up : Ralph Lawson, Francois K, Laurent Garnier, The Youngsters, Angel Molina, Vitalic, Mark Ambrose, Infrasound, Cristian Varela ...

The Mister X it's an electronic musician borned on the french antilles, he lives since a long time on the french alps. The Mister X it's the alter-ego of Xavier Marchand, under this alias name he works the hard-tecno on the mountain region arround Grenoble. By casual friendship we met in an audiovisual live set. Xavier works lots of other musical styles and atmospheres, but for this set Xavier shows a french hard-tecno. So then the image is also hard-tecno audiovisual set.

Since 2000 until 2002, the whole collective of VJ's arround the Telenoika Cultural Association were encharged of the visual part at 'Party of the Images' from the amazing club Space of Sound Madrid. Eloi Maduell worked on the design, production and technical set up as well as VJ.

Each time the set-up was one of the most amazing VJ setups ever in Europe, pushing to the limits the visual capacity of the venue, 15 huge screens surrounding this amazing club filled with about 5.000 people. This matinal sessions (sundays from 9h to 19h) celebrated in 2000, 2001 and 2002 wrotte an after and before in VJ installations in Spain.

As usual, Telenoika team realizes the entire space design, the setting up material, and the 12 hours VJ session with the same team of creatives and visual artists. On the session, 6 VJ connected to allucinate any open eyes.

Kernel Panic it's a Barcelona collective dedicated to expand the culture of open source and free softwares, hacking and freaking. His studio was placed in Les Naus, a squatted social center on Barcelona Gracia's neighbourghood [this autonomous cultural center was destroyed by the Barcelona city hall on 2004]. The last party from this collective counted with the participation of various artists from Telenoika Cultural Association.
